1 The government fee stays with the authority
The US$65–US$95 Kenya government fee buys an assessment of your application. If the answer is no, the assessment still took place, so the fee is not returned. That is the authority's rule and no provider can override it.
2 Our service fee comes back
If immigration declines your application, we refund our service fee. Government fees are non-refundable. Eligibility and timelines are in our refund policy. Our flat service fee is US$59.99 per traveller. Timelines, eligibility and exceptions are set out in the refund policy.
3 What does not count as a denial
- Withdrawing your own application — the assessment was already triggered.
- A file returned for correction — that is not a decision, and it is usually fixable.
- Being refused entry at the border with a valid permit. An approval authorises travel; the officer at the border still makes the final call.
4 Cheaper than any refund
Most declines are mechanical — a passport mismatch, a validity gap, an unreadable scan. Checking the Kenya eTA requirements before you pay protects the US$65–US$95 that no policy returns.
United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.
