1 Validity, measured correctly
A Kenya eTA allows a stay of up to 3 months. Measure your passport's expiry against the end of your intended stay, and expect a margin beyond that. Measuring against your outbound date is the classic error.
2 Blank pages
At least two genuinely clear visa pages. Amendments pages and partly-used pages do not count.
3 Condition and legibility
The data page must scan cleanly — no glare, no cropped corners, no water damage, no photographing a screen. A chip or machine-readable strip that no longer works is a problem at the border even if the application passes.
4 The same passport, throughout
The eTA is linked to the passport number you apply with. Renewing between application and travel breaks that link and needs a fresh application — a fresh US$65–US$95 government fee and another 5 working days. If a renewal is due, do it first.
5 And the form must match it
Every one of the passport number, full name exactly as printed in the machine-readable line, date of birth, nationality and passport expiry date is copied from the passport, not from memory. Read them off the machine-readable line at the bottom of the data page.
6 Before you apply
Work through the Kenya eTA requirements checklist, then continue to the application flow. Other questions for this destination are collected in the Kenya eTA FAQ.
United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.
