1 What is accepted
- Recent — taken within the last six months and looking like you now.
- Plain, light background, evenly lit, no shadow behind your head.
- Full face, front on, neutral expression, eyes open and visible.
- Whole head in frame, with a little space above it.
- Good resolution, in focus, correctly exposed.
2 What gets rejected
- A crop from a group photo, a holiday snap or a selfie taken at arm's length.
- Filters, beauty modes and heavy retouching — including whatever your phone applies by default.
- Sunglasses, hats, headphones, or glasses with glare. Head coverings worn for religious reasons are normally fine as long as the full face is visible.
- A photo of a printed photo, or a photograph of a screen.
- Anyone else in frame, including a hand steadying a child.
3 Children
Same standard, which is harder than it sounds. No supporting hands or arms in shot, and no toys. Laying an infant on a plain white sheet, photographed from directly above, is the usual trick.
4 Why it is worth the second attempt
A photo rejection costs the 5 working days review window and can cost the US$73 government fee. Retaking it against a blank wall takes two minutes.
5 Before you apply
Work through the Moldova eVisa requirements checklist, then continue to the application flow. Other questions for this destination are collected in the Moldova eVisa FAQ.
United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.
