Malawi Visa for Nigerian citizens

If you are travelling on a Nigerian passport, Malawi is reachable with an online eVisa instead of an embassy appointment. Nigerian travellers can complete the whole Malawi application from home and receive the approval by email.

Can Nigerian citizens get a Malawi eVisa?

Malawi grants online eligibility to Nigerian citizens across 4 visa options such as Tourist Evisa (Single Entry for 90 days), Tourist Evisa (Multiple Entries for 6 months), Tourist Evisa (Multiple Entries for 12 months). Malawi currently supports Single Entry or Multiple Entries, with a permitted stay of 90 days or 180 days. Government fees range from US$80.00 to US$270.00, depending on the visa type. Standard processing is typically 5 working days.

Documents and tips for Nigerian travellers

Nigerian passports typically require at least six months of validity and blank pages; confirm both, as documentation is scrutinised closely. Fees are in US dollars; Nigerian applicants should ensure their card has an active international transaction limit before checkout. The most common avoidable mistake for Nigerian citizens: submitting incomplete supporting documents, which leads to follow-up requests and slower processing.

• Enter every detail exactly as in your Nigerian passport, including middle names.
• Prepare strong supporting documents (funds, return ticket, accommodation), which are more frequently requested.
• Confirm your card’s international payment limit is high enough for the full fee.
