Can I change travel dates after Benin eVisa approval?

On this pageView sections

1 Check the window first

Benin issues 3 permits allowing stays of 30 days and 3 months. Your own validity dates are printed on the approval — read them off it rather than from the product name, then compare them with your new plan:

  • New dates inside the window — usually nothing to do. The approval is tied to the window, not to the specific arrival date you typed on the form.
  • New dates outside the window — the approval will not stretch. You need a fresh application, and a fresh US$85–US$140 government fee.
  • Window not yet started — check whether the permit has a fixed first-entry date. Arriving before it is treated the same as arriving without a permit.

2 What you cannot edit

An issued approval is a record, not a draft. Nobody amends the passport number, full name exactly as printed in the machine-readable line, date of birth, nationality and passport expiry date on it after the fact — those come from your passport, and a mismatch means a new application rather than a correction.

3 Give yourself room

If a new application is needed, allow the full 3 working days again (sometimes around 5 hours where faster handling is possible — on request, never guaranteed). Book the replacement before cancelling anything that depends on it.

4 Before you rebook

Work through the Benin eVisa requirements checklist, then continue to the application flow. Other questions for this destination are collected in the Benin eVisa FAQ.

United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.

Before you submit

A short check now can prevent avoidable corrections later.

  • Match names, passport numbers, and birth dates exactly.
  • Use clear document images and confirm the requested format.
  • Re-check travel dates and supporting bookings before payment.

Processing times are estimates and immigration authorities make the final decision. Avoid paying twice or resubmitting unchanged information.

Ready for the next step?

Check the route before entering passport details.

Review eligibility and fees first. You can leave before payment if the available route does not fit your trip.
