Can I correct mistakes after submitting my Hong Kong eVisa application?

On this pageView sections

1 Timing decides which option you have

Hong Kong review runs 3 working days. That window has two halves:

  • Straight after submission, before review starts — the best moment to raise it. Say precisely which field is wrong and what it should be.
  • Once review has begun — in-place corrections are usually no longer accepted, and the clean route is a new application with correct details and a new US$150–US$260 government fee.

Because timing decides the outcome, do not wait to see whether it goes through.

2 Which errors are serious

High risk, because they make an approval mismatch the document you travel on: passport number, full name exactly as printed in the machine-readable line, date of birth, nationality and passport expiry date. Also serious: an unreadable passport scan, or a non-compliant photo.

Lower risk, but still worth confirming: minor address or contact details that do not appear on the passport.

3 Do this now

  1. Name the exact field — "passport number wrong", not "my form has an error".
  2. Have your reference, passport number and the correct value ready.
  3. Assume you may need to reapply, and check your departure date against 3 working days (sometimes around 1 working day where faster handling is possible — on request, never guaranteed).

4 Before you resubmit

Work through the Hong Kong eVisa requirements checklist, then continue to the application flow. Other questions for this destination are collected in the Hong Kong eVisa FAQ.

United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.

Final review

Before you resubmit

A short check now can prevent avoidable corrections later.

  • Match names, passport numbers, and birth dates exactly.
  • Use clear document images and confirm the requested format.
  • Re-check travel dates and supporting bookings before payment.

Processing times are estimates and immigration authorities make the final decision. Avoid paying twice or resubmitting unchanged information.

Need a corrected file?

If support cannot edit the submitted file, start a new application with the right details. Do not pay twice for the same file.
