1 What is on offer
1 product covering Tourist travel, with government fees of US$112. Maximum stay is 30 days.
2 What the entry types mean
- Single entry — one crossing. Leaving Ethiopia ends the permit, even for a day trip.
3 Choosing
With single entry only, a trip that leaves and returns needs two separate applications. Plan and pay for both before you depart rather than applying from outside Ethiopia.
4 You cannot change it later
An issued permit's entry type is fixed. Upgrading means applying again from the start — another US$112 government fee, another US$59.99 service fee and another 3 working days of review (sometimes around 1 working day where faster handling is possible — on request, never guaranteed).
5 What counts as leaving
Clearing passport control on the way out uses an entry. Changing planes airside, without passing immigration, normally does not. If your route involves a long layover in Ethiopia on the way somewhere else, check which of the two your itinerary actually involves before assuming you are covered.
6 Read the approval, not the booking
The entry type and validity dates are printed on the approval itself. Check them the day it arrives, while there is still time to apply again if you picked the wrong product.
7 Before you apply
Work through the Ethiopia eVisa requirements checklist, then continue to the application flow. Other questions for this destination are collected in the Ethiopia eVisa FAQ.
United eVisa Services is a private application-support provider, not a government agency. The immigration authority makes the decision.
